WIGAN ROUND 1
Josh had a good race at Wigan on the 8th January and was unlucky to finish 8th after running a strong 4th. His carb went down on lap 5 leaving little in the way of temperature and revs. He was confident that he would have caught the front pack and would have had a good finish!

WIGAN ROUND 2
Josh competed in the second club round at Wigan on the weekend of the 28th January. Although Heat 1 wasn't what we wanted by dropping 4 places. He soon made up for it in Heat 2 by starting 21st and finishing 9th, which would then give him a start position of 14th in the A Final.

After a strong start he had made his way up to 7th by the chequered flag. A good result as we had not managed to get there for practice on the Saturday.

Final position 7th out of 42.

WIGAN ROUND 3
After a promising start of being one of the quickest on the Friday and Saturday practice the Sunday didn't quite go our way. After being hit off in the first heat and having to recover, we enjoyed a good second heat. Josh started the final a dissapointing 18th but managed to finish 9th. A good weekend on the pace didn't deserve the starting position he was given for the final.

FOREST EDGE. MARCH MEET.
Josh enjoyed being the pace setter on the Saturday with only his club racing engines being available. Heat 1 on the Sunday produced more determination having started 15th and finishing 3rd. Heat 2 saw Josh go from 8th to 1st and Heat 3 he went from pole to the flag unchallenged. Taking pole for the final he made his intentions clear with a top class start and drove away from the field to take the win, some 7 seconds from his nearest rival. Josh also set a new track record in Heat 1 with a time of 46.89 seconds.

CLAY PIGEON MARCH MEET.
Josh enjoyed another successful weekend, having looked the strongest on Saturday, he made no mistake on the Sunday by putting in three good performances in the heats. Heat 1 saw him go from 6th to 2nd. Heat 2 he started in pole and stayed there for the win. Heat 3 saw him go from 15th to 1st, putting him on pole for the final. Another good start in the final gave him the gap he needed and as the race progressed he drove away from the pack to win by nearly 9 seconds.

SUPER 1 MARCH 18/19 3 SISTERS, WIGAN
Josh had 2 good practice days putting his kart quickly on the pace on Friday and again on Saturday, by finishing off with a good last session, giving him all the confidence he needed for the Sunday raceday.

All the heats on the Sunday went well Josh showing some very comitted driving to gain places that eventually gave him a grid position of 8th for the A Final.

Although he made and lost places in the Final he managed to finish 8th where he had started, but on the points that he accumulated he now lies joint 7th in the Championship.

MOTORS TV AND WIGAN CLUB MEETING 25/26 MARCH
On the Saturday Josh competed in the first round of the Motors TV. Having picked pole from the hat, he led for 5 or so laps until it started drizzling, having then been caught Josh got sandwiched between 2 karts and on a damp track spun off. This put him back to 15th he then drove hard to finish back in 7th. A race we should have had a podium position in but still a good result.

On the Sunday Josh competed in the Club Championship and had another good day, but with mixed heats he started around 18th in the final finishing 12th with a good weekends racing.

FOREST EDGE APRIL 2ND CLUB MEETING
A mixed bag of weather greeted us on race day. After wet and dry heats he had 2 heat wins and a 2nd putting him on pole for the final, which he led from start to finish unchallenged. Another good day.

CLAY PIGEON APRIL 9TH CLUB MEETING
Another good result followed with 2 heat wins and a 2nd putting Josh on pole for the final. He again drove away in the final to bring it home for yet another win.

FOREST EDGE APRIL MEET
Having consistently been the fastest on the Saturday Practice, Josh went on to win 2 out of the 3 heats. Starting pole for the final, Josh led from lights to flag unchallenged to win by 4.88 seconds.

CLAY PIGEON APRIL MEET
Having practised at Shenington on the Saturday and turning up just to race the Sunday Josh had it all to do. From the morning warm up onwards it was clear that Macauley Austin was going to make the day hard. Josh however won 2 heats putting him on pole for the final, which he lead from lights to flag with a narrow win by 0.77 seconds.

WIGAN MOTORS TV AND APRIL CLUB MEET
MOTORS TV saw Josh start 7th from the back with the first of the reversed grids. Having made a great start, overtaking plenty on turns 1 and 2 he made a move down the inside of pit straight only to be T-boned off the track by a spinner on his outside. With a bent axle, brake disc and carrier that was the end of his race.

SUNDAY CLUB MEET gave us better fortune, having worked hard in the heats, winning one, we looked forward to starting well up the grid in the A final. From the start 9 karts broke away and stayed together for the whole race, anyone of which could have taken the win. Josh crossed the line in 7th a gap of 0.5 seconds separated 1st-7th, a great final to watch.

SHENNINGTON SUPER 1 30TH APRIL
Josh quickly got onto and set the pace on Friday and settled well for the Saturday.

3 good heats on the Sunday gave us a starting position of 13th in the A final. Within half a lap we were up to 6th, but with 11 hard laps left we slipped down to 15th at the flag. A little disapointing at first but racing at this level is always hard and to come away from the weekend lying 10th in Super 1 was still a good result.

PFI TRENT VALLEY KART CLUB MAY MEET
This meeting was used as a test for the following Super 1 round later in May. Having worked hard on Saturday to get a good set up in the warm sticky conditions, we were pleased to see the rain on the Sunday to also get data and a set up for the wet. Josh quickly found his feet and took three 2nd places in the heats. An engine change and a couple of tweeks for the final was all that was needed to give Josh determination to take the win. Starting 2nd on the grid for the final Josh soon took the lead. He then settled down to push hard and drove away to win by 6 seconds.

2 good days testing with a win at PFI.

CLAY PIGEON MAY MEET
Saturday again saw Josh setting the pace, but also knowing that Sunday was never going to be easy.

As he has now grown into a determined driver and a relentless battler, Josh took 2 out of the 3 heat wins. Starting on pole, the final was far from comfortable but again Josh did what he had to do to take the win, a victory made even sweeter as his engine tuner was present and watching.

WIGAN MOTORS TV - MAY
Josh had a good start to the race, moving through the pack quite comfortably, however he made a move that saw the door closed on him and Josh found the muddy stuff on the edge of Paddock Bend!! He recovered from last to work his way up to 18th.

CLAY PIGEON - JUNE
Josh had a good practice on the Saturday, but knowing that Sunday was always going to be hard with visiting driver Callum Bowyer in attendance.

Sunday Josh took 2 heat wins and a 2nd in 1 heat but won the final on the last lap with a lovely overtaking move.

LARKHALL SUPER 1 - JUNE
Having made a good trip north on the Thursday we soon found out feet on the Friday morning, making good progress early on. Saturday also saw us make good progress with the whole team looking forward to the races on the Sunday.

Josh had 2 really good heats and 1 poorer heat where we were caught in a shunt and found it difficult to recover. The final was wet with standing water, Josh had earnt a start position of 16th, he worked hard and got up to 10th.

A good weekend leaving us lying 9th in Super 1 at the moment.

WIGAN MOTORS TV AND CLUB MEET - JUNE
Josh tested the Friday and was set on winning the Motors TV on the Saturday. Josh made a good start in the race and soon took the lead. With quite a few laps in he was demoted to 5th but again worked hard to lead again. He then lost the lead again be regained it on the last lap to win the Motors TV June meet. The win was recorded on the Motors TV onboard camera which was fitted on Josh's kart.

The Wigan Club Race on the Sunday was for the Wigan Gold Cup. Josh drove well in the 2 heats making up ample places to earn a grid spot of P3.

Josh drove a hard final which we believe had the package to take the win but with revs dying away from lap 3 (possibly the carb letting go) it was all Josh could do to bring it home in 6th. Still a good weekend.

CLAY MEET - JULY
Josh had a good weekend having taken 2 heat wins and a second, starting pole for the final.

Having led for many laps Sam Jenkins took the lead with Josh pushing hard behind to make the gap from the remaining pack, he couldn't make the last lap moves stick and lost to Sam by .09 of a second.

FOREST EDGE - JULY
Josh had a good weekend again wining 2 heats and putting it on pole for the final where he led from lights to flag to take a good win.

CLAY SUPER 1 - JULY
Having had 2 good practice days heat 1 on the Sunday was a little disapointing having been taken out on the first corner. Heat 2 went a lot better starting 25th and finishing 6th. Heat 3 Josh started pole but lost the lead on the last lap by a 3 kart train to finish 4th.

Starting P11 on the grid for the final was a good result and after 3/4 of a lap Josh had made up 5 places. But having to fight with a fellow competitor too early in the race, gave the pack a chance to catch up and unfortunatley we were demoted to 12th by the final flag. All to do for the final Super 1 later in September.

CLAY - AUGUST
Josh had a good practice day on the Saturday. On race day he drove well and won all three heats and the final, it being a close finish at the end with Macauley Austin.

ROWRAH - AUGUST
Josh had 3 days practice ready for Super 1 which went very well with Josh being the fastest by far.

Sunday Race Day - Josh had some good battles with Abbey Gerry in the heats putting him on pole for the final. He drove a good race and won.

Monday Race Day - Josh and Abbey were joined by Alex Albon and had some very tough heats. In the final he drove a good race leading on the last lap only to be overtaken by Abbey and Alex to come in 3rd.

Over the 2 days racing points were accumulated with Josh coming out on top and winning the Lakeland Challenge, an excellent weekend.

INTERNATIONS - LLANDOW - SEPTEMBER
Josh was chosen to race for Scotland. Two days of racing gave 2 of the scottish drivers 5 & 6 on the grid for the final. James Mclay was unfortunately knocked off on lap 1 leaving Josh on his own surrounded by the English boys!! Emerging from the 1st lap in 3rd he fought hard and moved upto 2nd, chasing Callum Bowyer for 1st. He caught Callum and passed him, just as he took the lead a red flag was thrown for an accident. When it restarted they went back a lap putting Josh in 3rd. 2 English lads in front and 3 behind starting in single file. After making a good start he came round in 2nd, after a lot of team work by the English boys on the last lap they managed to get him down to 5th just before the finish line. An excellent drive from Josh really showing them what he was made of!!

ROWRAH - SUPER 1 - LAST ROUND
With an addition to the team we had Spike helping along with Paul and Joe all out to help Josh achieve the best finish possible. He had 2 good days practice and finished in the top 10 in all 3 heats. Starting 10th in the final he did the best he could and finished an excellent 10th.

With points worked out he managed to finish 10th in Super 1 giving him S10 to run next year. Excellent.

WIGAN - SEPTEMBER - MOTORS TV
Josh started the day determined to win and no-one was going to stop him. After a hard fought race and plenty of battling in a 6/7 kart train he took the lead and defended for the win 2/3 laps from the end. Excellent victory.

WIGAN - SEPTEMBER - CLUB RACE
Josh started 13th in heat 1 just on leaving the grid the heavens opened and it poured with rain, out on slicks he did an excellent job coming home in 6th. Started 2nd in heat 2 took the lead then was passed and finished 2nd. Started 21st in heat 3 got taken off on the first corner putting him back to last, drove a storm of a race managing to get back upto 10th.

Josh was on p4 for the final. He took the lead only to be passed, but he was happy to sit in second and wait. The leader was forced wide and Josh took the lead with the other 4/5 behind following. He defended well and held on for the win an excellent victory at Three Sisters.

FOREST EDGE - OCTOBER
Josh had a good days practice on the Saturday with mixed weather conditions.

Race day saw heavy rain. Josh had 2 heat wins and a 2nd coming from 22nd on the grid. He had pole for the final and just drove away to the flag unchallenged for a 4 second win.

CLAY PIGEON - OCTOBER
Josh had a good days testing on Saturday until he came across a novice in the middle of the track around the 'S' s with no marshell on that corner he struck the novice at full speed head on. Luckily neither were hurt, Josh's chassis was a right off. A trip home by Dad and good friend Mike Wellington saw the spare chassis up and running for race day.

RACE DAY - Josh had 2 heat wins and a 2nd putting him on pole for the final. He made a good start and drove from pole to the finish line to win. A good end to what could have been a disasterous weekend. A big thank you to Dad and Mike Wellington for making the win possible.

WHILTON MILL - OCTOBER
Josh was being run this weekend by the Xtreme team. He had a good days practice on the Saturday being one of the quickest.

RACE DAY - Started dry, with 37 cadets lined up for racing today. Ht 1 he started 16th and drove an excellent race and came in 4th. Ht 2 saw us start 4th, there had been a sprinkle of rain so inters were used and he took the lead and won by some 4.5 seconds. Ht 3 he started 16th and as they left the grid it rained heavily unfortunately we were on the wrong tyres but still managed to finish 12th. Josh was on 5th place for the very wet 'A' final drove well until he got hit off. He managed to recover and from 15th climbed his way back up to 6th. A good finish in the end but he had the speed to win had he not been hit off. Thanks to the Xtreme team for their help this weekend.

CLAY PIGEON - NOVEMBER
Josh had a good days test on the Saturday.

On Sunday he won 2 heats which put him on pole for the final. He led at the start to be overtaken by Macauley Austin. He then regained the lead and was defending on the last lap when they came upon a back marker, no blue flags were shown, Josh went round him and the back marker then proceeded to take Josh off the track. This allowed Macauley and Leon to slip past, but he recovered quickley enough to finish 3rd.

WIGAN - NOVEMBER
Motors TV - Josh had a reasonable start but seemed to be struggling, he was then nudged from behind on the straight which put him onto the grass, race over he came in 3rd from last, but there seemed to be problems with the kart.

Race day Sunday - Josh had quite a good heat 1 starting 21st and came in 9th, however after that it seemed to go down hill. Again problems with the kart, fuel was changed, engine was changed, carb was cleaned but still the kart did not seem to want to pull down the straights. After the final another thorough going over of the kart found a fault with the top of the carb, but unfortunately the discovery came to late.

CLAY PIGEON - DECEMBER
Josh had a good days testing Saturday and the problem from the previous week at Wigan had been cured.

Sunday Race Day - Josh only needed to start one heat to claim the Club Championship for 2006, he did this in style by winning it!! He then wanted to carry on for the rest of the day, so he did and promptly won heat 2 & 3. This gave him pole for the final. He had a good start led for a time only to be overtaken by Tom Read. The two of them pulled away from the rest of the pack, and it became a battle between the 2, swaping the lead several times. However Tom took it on the final lap and Josh did not make a challenge as he already had the Championship in the bag and did not want to risk any exclusions, so he came in a victorious 2nd. A brilliant day with the Club Championship sealed for the second year running.
