LLANDOW - JANUARY
Josh had a good days practice on Saturday being one of the quickest along with Jake Dennis and several local lads.

On Sunday Josh had 3 good heats finishing 3rd, 2nd and 1st putting him on 2nd for the final. He had an ok start and settled into the race quickly. Found himself challenging for the lead and gaining it on the 2nd to last lap. Came under a lot of pressure from Steven Handford and Jake Dennis with the 3 of them alongside each other on the final bend! Unfortunately Josh lost out and came in a respectable 3rd. A very good first race of the season.

3 SISTERS, WIGAN - FEBRUARY
Saturday - Josh had a good days testing being on the pace all day.

Sunday - Today we had help from Joe Boullen, in heat 1 Josh went from 21st to 4th, and in heat 2 went from pole to the win by 4.5 seconds. Josh had pole for the final and Josh and Danny Sweeney broke away from the pack and were nose to tail all race with Danny taking the lead a few laps in. In lap 12 Josh retook the lead and held it for 3 laps to the flag, winning by 0.03 of a second from Danny and the two of them crossing the line some 4.3 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack. A great win and a big thank you to Joe.

3 SISTERS WIGAN - CADET WINTER CUP - FEBRUARY
SATURDAY - We had a fairly good days practice in and out of the showers finishing one of the fastest.

SUNDAY - Today we again had Joe Boullen as Joshs mechanic. With a full grid of 34 and a shakedown for the Super 1 round in 3 weeks we knew it was going to be tough. Josh had 7 lap qualifying where he finished a good 5th which gave him 5th in the two heats. In heat 1 Josh finished 4th and had the fastest lap, in heat 2 he finished 8th as they were out on slicks and had heavy rain during the heat. This gave him 6th position in the 20 lap pre-final. Josh had a very good pre-final finishing 5th which then gave him 5th in the Final. The final was 25 laps and Josh drove well, bringing the kart home in 4th place. A big thank you again to Joe for all his help.

KIMBOLTON - MARCH MEETING
Saturday - A good days test ahead of the Stars round next month finishing the day the quickest.

Sunday - Some good heats and some bad heats! Finished the final 8th. Good testing for the Stars round.

SUPER 1 WIGAN - MARCH
Friday & Saturday - 2 good test days on the pace both days.

Sunday - Josh had a mixed bag of heats again with a couple of incidents on the track and the bad windy wet weather playing a part! Josh gridded 18th in the A final with it all to do. The final was the first dry race Josh had had all day and it went well. He had a good race getting up to 4th at one point. He finished the final in 9th after some tough racing, putting us 12th in Super 1 not a bad start to the series and looking forward to the next races.

KIMBOLTON - STARS OF TOMORROW ROUNDS 1 & 2 - APRIL

FRIDAY PRACTICE - Josh had an excellent days practice with some times very near to the lap record but with some 50 or so entries we knew the weekend was going to be tough.

SATURDAY ROUND 1 - There were a total of 7 heats for cadets with an A and a B final. We had some very good heats putting us 14th on the grid for the A final. Josh had a good final and finished 9th.

SUNDAY ROUND 2 - There were again 7 heats with an A and a B final. Heat 1 went well with us finishing 8th. However heat 2 and heat 3 did not go so well with Josh being knocked off in both. With these poor finishes and such a high number racing it put us 17th in the B final with the top 4 to go through to the A. Josh had a very good start but unfortunately on the first bend he got collected along with lots of others which put him back. He had a brilliant drive back but only managed to finish 7th so unfortunatley did not make it into the A.

SHENNINGTON CLUB MEETING - APRIL

We had a good days testing on the Saturday in some hot temperatures and a full grid of 30 for Sundays race again we knew it was going to be tough.

SUNDAY - Heat 1 got off to a bad start as Josh had an incident with someone so only managed to finish 22nd. A better heat in heat 2 finishing 7th. In heat 3 he was taken off by number 41 on the first lap and did not manage to restart. This gave him 21st on the grid for the final. He drove a fantastic race and came up through the field and managed to finish 9th. A good weekends test for Stars of Tomorrow in 3 weeks.

PFI - SUPER 1 - APRIL

Josh had a good 2 days testing with Roddy Taylor helping with setup.

SUNDAY - In heat 1 Josh had a reasonable race but the carb went down and Josh managed to bring it home in 16th. In heat 2 Josh had a better race and finished 9th, heat 3 saw him start pole, he stayed in 2nd for a while until the pack caught up, Josh got tagged and span only managing to finish 21st. We started 22nd in the A final with some hard racing he managed to finish 18th.

FOREST EDGE CLUB MEETING - MAY

SATURDAY - Josh had some very good testing Saturday and easily set the pace. A big grid of 40 cadets, 4 heats and an A and B final.

SUNDAY - Josh had 3 good heats managing to finish 1st in each one with one of them from the back. He also was one of 2 to break the lap record. Josh had pole for the final. Had a good start followed closely by Sammi Cassidy, who took the lead after a couple of laps. Josh sat behind him and they managed to pull a gap from the rest of the pack. Josh took the lead a corner from home for an excellent win.

SHENNINGTON - STARS OF TOMORROW - MAY

Josh had some very good testing on Friday and Saturday, with another big grid of 40+ cadets with 6 heats and an A and B final.

SUNDAY - We were greeted on Sunday with some awful weather. In heat 1 Josh started 5th and managed to hold onto it until he was tagged and span, putting him at the back of the field. He made and excellent recovery and finished 18th. In heat 2 he started 17th and had a brilliant race finishing 7th, in heat 3 he started 14th again an excellent race in appalling conditions finishing 7th. A definate A final qualification. However the weather continued to get worse and the Officals decided to abandon the meeting after a nasty red flag incident in the Jica race, unfortunately that means that the good points scored today will not count.

LLANDOW - MAY MEETING

SATURDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a good days dry testing and was well on pace.

SUNDAY - It was to be a wet race day and Josh won the first heat and came second in heats 2 and 3. He had some very good battles with Stephen Handford and was on second position for the final. He went down to 3rd but quickly got back to second. Was nose to tail with Stephen until the last lap when they came across a back marker, Stephen managed to get past straight away but unfortunately Josh was held up and could not regain the time he lost. He finished a good second. Two good days testing for Stars in a couple of months.

LARKHALL SUPER 1 - JUNE

FRIDAY & SATURDAY - Josh had some very good testing being one of the fastest.

SUNDAY - A damp greasy track was to greet Josh for Heat 1 but he went from 24th to 10th. In heat 2 his carb went down and he went from 12th to 15th. In heat 3 he had a pole and finished 6th. This gave him 10th in the A final. He drove well but did not seem to have the pace that he had earlier and finished 15th.

LARKHALL - STARS OF TOMORROW - JUNE

We were back up to Scotland for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. We had some good testing on the Friday and Saturday with Josh well on the pace.

We would like to thank Ryan Cannon for all his help at the 2 rounds at Larkhall.

FOREST EDGE CLUB MEETING - JULY

Saturday - We arrived at Forest Edge to rain which stayed all day. Josh was given the chance to test a Mini Max for the first time which he did so very well and was on the pace straight away. A good sign for September when he changes class. He went out in his cadet and was the fastest in practice.

Sunday - There were 4 heats for cadets and an A and B final. We finished 1st, 6th and 4th which gave us 2nd on the grid in the A final. Josh had a good start and was in a battle of 4 karts which broke away from the pack. He led for the last few laps and was just passed on the last lap and 3 of them went over the line with 0.4 between them Josh finishing 3rd. He did however set the fastest lap of 47.98 the only cadet in the 47's all day.

He had a good race but had a coming together with another driver finishing 13th. A good weekend moving Josh up the table at Super 1. Josh had Ryan Cannon running him the weekend so a big thanks to Ryan

STARS OF TOMORROW LLANDOW - JULY

Friday - Some very wet testing as the weather was appauling but Josh was very much on the pace and looking forward to a wet Sunday.

Saturday - A nice practise day and again well on the pace.

Sunday - Bad weather greeted us for Sunday with heavy rain. Josh had a pole in ht 1 and battled hard all race with Hazz and Albon finally taking Albon for 2nd place on the last corner. Finished 12th from 19th in ht 2 and in ht 3 finished 8th from 14th putting Josh 9th on the grid in the A final. He was pushed onto the grass on lap 1 moving something on the kart, unfortunately he could do nothing about it and finished 19th. A dissapointing end but some very good points earned moving Josh 7 places up the points table.

GENK, BELGIUM - STARS OF TOMORROW - 2/3/4/5 AUGUST

Thursday - Woke up to rain just for a change. Practice was delayed for 1 hour and the rain eased. Josh had a good 1st days practice being on the pace.

Friday - A nice sunny day. We had a couple of good sessions but then developed a problem after 3 laps the kart went off and we had little power. The problem was found and corrected by 10pm.

Saturday Round 6 - Another hot day. We had some good heats bearing in mind our problems of Friday. Josh finished 9th in heat 1, 7th in heat 2 and 5th in heat 3 giving him 11th on the grid in the A final. Josh had a good start upto 4th on the 1st corner but was bundled out in the 2nd corner, during this incident his axle moved and he could not turn left very well, he finished 24th.

Sunday Round 7 - Another very hot day. Again we had some good heats 10th in heat 1, 7th in heat 2 and 4th in heat 3 giving Josh 10th on the grid in the A final. He had a so so start being bundled back to around 20th but had an excellent race and battled hard with Alex Albon finishing just behind him in 10th. Some good points gained this weekend moving him up the championship. A very good trip to Belgium a fantastic track and great facilities.

CLAY PIGEON CLUB MEETING - AUGUST

Josh had a good days testing on Saturday and was well on the pace.

Sunday - In Josh's first heat he took the lead but was hit off from behind whilst going down the straight by Kasia Nicklin, he span 360 but managed to keep it going but had a lot of ground to make up and finished 14th.
In heat 2 he got up to about 5th place but was pushed wide on a corner and ended up on the grass, kept going and finished 17th.
In heat 3 Josh started almost last and had a good heat he finished 6th.
Because of the 2 bad heats he was 14th on the grid for the final. He had a good start and made up lots of places, he got up to 3rd on the last lap only to be nudged from behind by TJ Nelson putting Josh back to 5th.
A good result for what had been a bad start to the day.
Josh also achieved the fastest lap in the final.

WARDEN LAW - SUPER 1 - AUGUST

Friday Practice - Josh had a good days test learning the track quite quickly.

Saturday Practice - Again a good days testing with Josh on the pace.

Sunday Race Day - Josh set the 3rd quickest time in practice. In ht 1 Josh started 14th and finished 8th, ht 2 started 17th but got pushed wide after the first 2 corners into 2 lines of karts, managed to escape any accident but left him near the back. He chased well and caught up to 13th place. In ht 3 Josh started 3rd and finished 7th. His grid position for the final was 12th but again got caught up on the tight track, after the 2nd bend he came across some karts on the track that had spun and had no option but to go across the grass putting him back down to 27th, he battled well and caught up to 19th where he finished. After Warden Law we are now lying 13th in Super 1 with 1 more round at Clay Pigeon to go.

3 SISTERS WIGAN - STARS OF TOMORROW - SEPTEMBER

This was the last 2 rounds of Stars and we were lying 16th with drops, with it all to do to achieve a seeded number.

Friday Test - Josh had a good days testing and was well on the pace.

Saturday Race Day - Josh had the fastest lap out of everyone in 3 laps practice in the wet. By heat 1 it had dried out and stayed dry for the rest of the day. In ht 1 Josh started 2nd and came in 7th, ht 2 Josh started 20th and came in 15th, ht 3 started 12th and came in 18th after being bashed about around the track. This put him 24th on the grid for the A final. He had an excellent race and managed to get upto 14th, giving us valuable points. At the end of Saturday we were 15th on drops.

Sunday Race Day - Again Josh was the fastest out of everyone in 3 laps practice in the wet. It was to stay wet for the rest of the day. In ht 1 Josh started 16th and came in 6th a storming performance with the fastest lap of the heat. In ht 2 he started 14th and finished 1st with another storming performance again with the fastest lap of the heat and won by some 0.5 seconds. In ht 3 Josh started 3rd and after a lot of hard battling came in 10th. He was 3rd on the grid for the A final a fantastic achievement. He got away well at the start of the final with the first 3 pulling a small gap, only for a red flag to be thrown. The race then started in single file with all of the grid closed up. 6 karts pulled away, Josh taking the lead for a while then shuffled down to 6th back up to 2nd down to 4th this went on the whole race. On the last lap he was in 3rd and at Lunar, the last bend he was nudged from behind and subsequently dropped to 6th, but a fantastic finish to a year that started badly. He had the fastest lap of the day.

Josh finished Stars with a seeded number which was 14.

CLAY PIGEON - SEPTEMBER - SUPER 1

FRIDAY PRACTICE - Josh was well on the pace and had a good days testing. SATURDAY - Josh had a nasty incident in the first session of the day where he got caught and span quite hard into the tyres. In heat 1 Josh started 7th and came 7th, heat 2 started 21st but was caught up in an incident at Billys and was plum last drove well and managed to get back up to 20th. In heat 3 Josh started 14th and drove a stormer of a race and finished 2nd. Just before the final it started raining. He was on grid 7 for the final and had a bad start dropping back to 15th but drove brilliantly and managed to finish 5th. An excellent end to his cadet career with a National Super 1 trophy!!

After finishing all the rounds of Super 1 Josh has again finished S10!! A brilliant end to his cadet career.

Josh would like to thank everyone involved with his last 6 years in cadets without them none of it would have been possible.
