In heat 2 he started 14th and finished a good 7th. In heat 3 he started 7th and
had a good start but got tangled up with Tyler Weedon which put him back down the
finishing positions. He had a grid of 9th for the final with it all to do. He had

with a very large and mixed ability grid.
LLANDOW - FEBRUARY CLUB MEETING
SATURDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a good days testing and was on the pace.
SUNDAY - Josh did well in his 3 heats which gave him 2nd on the grid for the final.
He had a not so good start putting him behind Jean Luke Laister in 3rd. He managed
to pass Jean Luke and then pulled away closing the gap on Sam Marsh but it was too
late to make the move for 1st. Josh finished a good 2nd, a good end to the weekend.
CLAY PIGEON - MARCH CLUB MEETING
SATURDAY PRACTICE - This was going to be another tough weekend with 34 minimax booked
in to race on Sunday. Josh had a good practice day even though it stayed wet the
whole day.
SUNDAY RACE DAY - The day started wet. In the 1st heat Josh started 14th and had
an excellent race finishing 7th. In the 2nd heat he started 4th and was running
3rd when he was pushed wide by Sam Marsh. He fought back to finish a good 8th, this
was the only dry race of the day. The weather was on and off all day with rain,
hail and sun. In heat 3 Josh started 11th and had a good race and finished 7th again.
He was straight into the A final giving him 8th on the grid. He had a good start
and was flying, got up to around 5th and was shoved wide again from behind dropping
him some way back. He fought well and managed to finish 11th.
SHENNINGTON CLUB MEETING - MARCH
Saturday Practice - Josh had a very good days practice with half dry and half wet
weather. It was his first time in the mini max at Shennington and was straight on
the pace. There were 19 booked in to race on the Sunday.
Sunday Race Day - The weather had been very bad overnight with heavy rain and strong
winds. Josh was also feeling under the weather with a very nasty cough. It was wet
for the first heat in which he started 12th and had an excellent race to finish
5th. In heat 2 he started 4th but the track was drying and they didnt have time
to change the tyres to slicks, he did his best and came in a good 7th. This gave
him 4th on the grid for the final which was now dry. He was pushed wide at the start,
dropping him down to around 12/13 he had an exellent recovery and finished a brilliant
5th. A great days racing for his first time at the circuit in a mini max.
LARKHALL, SCOTLAND - APRIL CLUB MEETING
We made the long 8 hour journey upto Scotland for the April club meeting with the
prediction of snow it was going to be interesting.
SATURDAY PRACTICE - Josh had an excellent days practice being on the pace straight
away, excellent for his first time at Larkhall in the mini max. There was a mini
max grid of 12.
SUNDAY RACE DAY - It was going to be a tough day which wasnt helped by snowfall
at 9am. Racing was put back until 11am enabling us all to have a snowball fight!!
Heat 1 Josh started 3rd but having not tested in wet conditions and with a problem
with the kart he finished 8th. By now the track was dry. Heat 2 Josh started 8th
and finished 5th. Heat 3 Josh started 4th and came in 6th. These results gave him
grid position 5 for the final with it all to do. He had a so so start but dropped
back to 8th. He battled hard and managed to take 3rd place on the last lap so winning
a trophy. A good end to a hard days racing, with some snow fun along the way! A
tiring and long journey home but well worth the trip.
KIMBOLTON CLUB MEETING - MAY
SATURDAY - A new track had been laid at Kimbolton and this was to be the first practice/race
to be held on it. Josh had a good practice day well on the pace, even though it
was very hot.
SUNDAY - It was another very hot day with 18 racing. In heat 1 Josh started 11th
and came home 4th, heat 2 he started 14th and came in 5th and in his 3rd heat he
started 2nd and after a tough race came home in 5th. He was 4th on the grid for
the 16 lap final. He had a bad start unable to get to the inside and was shuffled
down to about 9th/10th. He drove hard and managed to catch up 3rd place and overtake
him on the last lap. An excellent 3rd on his first visit to Kimbolton in the Mini
Max.
THREE SISTERS, WIGAN GOLD CUP - JUNE CLUB MEETING
FRIDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a hard days practice on Friday with a bit to find for
the next couple of days.
SATURDAY PRACTICE - It rained all day and Josh was well on the pace putting the
Friday practice behind him, he was one of the fastest all day.
SATURDAY QUALIFYING - Josh had an excellent qualifying giving him 4th on the grid
for heat one on Sunday. There were 22 racing.
SUNDAY RACE DAY - It was dry for race day and we hoped the problems of Friday would
not reoccur, however with new slicks all seemed ok on 3 lap practice. Starting 6th
in heat 1 Josh had a good but hard race and finished 6th. This ment he started 6th
for heat 2, again a good but hard race finishing 6th again! So for heat 3 he was
again on 6th. He had another good race and finished 6th again!! For the final he
was to start 6th. There were a few spinners on the first lap and Josh being on the
outside managed to avoid them. He drove well and within a couple of laps he was
up to 3rd. He held this for a few laps chasing 2nd down, but unfortunately was caught
and passed, but he finished 4th which was a great achievement for his first time
in the minimax at Wigan. Yet another trophy for the cabinet.
SHENNINGTON CLUB MEETING - JULY
SATURDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a good days practice and the weather was cloudy but
dry.
SUNDAY RACE DAY - There were 18 on the grid and the weather was overcast but dry.
In heat 1 Josh started 16th. He had a good start and race and finished 6th. In heat
2 he started 3rd and won the heat. In heat 3 he started 7th and came home 3rd. This
gave him 2nd on the grid for the final. He had a bad start and got shut out on the
first corner. He managed to battle hard and break free of the pack but the front
2 had already pulled a lead. He closed them down but did not have enough laps left
so he came home 3rd. A very good result with some excellent racing.
LARKHALL - AUGUST CLUB MEETING
FRIDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a good days test being well on the pace.
SATURDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a good morning practice with qualifying and heat 1
in the afternoon.
QUALIFYING & HEAT 1 - Josh did well in qualifying and managed to qualify 3rd, which
gave him 3rd on the grid for heat 1. Josh had a good race and managed to finish
2nd.
SUNDAY HEAT 2 - Josh started 3rd again for heat 2 had a good race but came in 4th.
PREFINAL - With the points for heat 1 and 2 added up gave Josh 3rd on the grid for
the Prefinal. 2/3 laps in it poured with rain, unfortunately they were out on slicks,
Josh managed to bring it home in 5th, giving him 5th on the grid for the Final.
FINAL - Josh's final started ok but it became apparent the engine had some kind
of problem as it lacked any power. Josh finished in 6th and we think the rain from
the pre-final got into the electrics. A sad end to a very good weekend.
KIMBOLTON - AUGUST CLUB MEETING
SATURDAY PRACTICE - Josh had a good but mainly wet practice being well on the pace.
SUNDAY RACE DAY - Josh was to start 5th in his first heat with 19 on the grid. He
had an excellent race and came home 1st. In heat 2 he started 10th, got nudged wide
but managed to come home 8th. In heat 3 he started 14th had a good race and managed
to come home 6th. This gave him 3rd on the grid for the final. He had an excellent
start and was upto 2nd after the first corner and pulling a gap on 3rd, however
2/3 laps in a nasty accident occured and the red flag was shown. At the restart
the guy in 2nd defended his place but Josh managed to stay in 4th with a hard battle
ahead. He managed to pass 3rd place and chase down 2nd place Joe Byrne but unfortunately
ran out of laps and finished 3rd. Another trophy for the cabinet and an excellent
days racing.
